Job overview
Surrey and Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust is seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Resuscitation Officer to provide strategic and clinical leadership for resuscitation services across the Trust.
This is a high-profile, senior clinical leadership role with responsibility for delivering a Trust-wide resuscitation strategy, ensuring excellence in cardiac arrest management, and driving continuous improvement in patient safety and outcomes.
About the Role
You will:
- Act as the Trust’s professional lead for resuscitation services, setting standards and shaping policy
- Provide expert clinical leadership during cardiac arrests and medical emergencies
- Lead the development and delivery of evidence-based resuscitation training programmes for staff
- Drive quality improvement, audit, and patient safety initiatives, including PSIRF learning responses
- Influence senior leaders and contribute to Trust-wide governance and strategic decision-making
- Manage the day-to-day running and future development of the resuscitation service
About You
You will be a registered healthcare professional with:
- Extensive senior clinical experience in acute or emergency care settings
- Proven leadership at Band 7/8a or above, managing complex services or teams
- Instructor status in Resuscitation Council (UK) programmes (e.g. ALS, EPLS)
- Strong expertise in resuscitation standards, patient safety, and clinical governance
- The ability to lead with credibility, resilience and influence at executive level
