Job overview

Are you a newly or recently qualified Speech and Language Therapist looking to join a supportive and dynamic Speech and Language Therapy team? An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated Speech and Language Therapist to join the SLT inpatient team based at East Surrey Hospital. The post will be rotational across the Acute Medical/Surgical wards and Hyper Acute/ Acute Stroke Unit. 

The successful candidate should be interested in developing their skills with an adult inpatient caseload. You will have the opportunity to develop skills across a wide range of clinical specialisms, and will be supported to manage a caseload of patients with communication and swallowing disorders independently. You will also be supported to complete dysphagia competencies as required.

You  will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and will have excellent communication and prioritisation skills. You will be passionate about delivering person-centered and evidence based care.

There will be opportunities to to contribute to training and support of Speech and Language Therapy assistants,and colleagues within the wider hospital, where appropriate
