Job overview

We invite applications from registrar (CT3/ST3+) to post-CCT anaesthetists for our Trauma and Regional Anaesthesia Fellowship.

The Fellow will receive exceptional training in regional anaesthesia, train colleagues in regional anaesthesia, and help enhance Wexham Park Hospital’s regional anaesthesia and trauma service.

Please note that there may be an opportunity to extend the contract by a further 6 months upon mutual agreement.

Main duties of the job

Some of the main duties for this post include:

  • A pro-block culture is embedded in our Trust’s routine anaesthetic and surgical practice, so the Fellow can expect to perform a large volume and range of blocks for elective and emergency surgery, including upper and lower limb blocks, and chest and abdominal wall blocks and catheters.
  • Attending our regional anaesthesia courses.
  • Working towards EDRA exam eligibility - following a 12 months fellowship, the fellow is anticipated to be eligible for EDRA part 2 (performed 150 neuraxial blocks, 150 peripheral blocks, various other blocks, and attendance at 3 workshops). The fellow will be encouraged to sit the EDRA exam and attend an ESRA conference.
