Band 7 Sonographer (37.5 hours, Permanent)

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Sonographer to join our dynamic and supportive team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to play a key role in delivering a high-quality, patient-focused ultrasound service.

In this role, you will perform a comprehensive range of ultrasound examinations, including obstetric, gynaecological, general, and musculoskeletal scans. You will produce accurate, high-quality reports in collaboration with the Lead Radiologist for Ultrasound, ensuring all work aligns with established clinical protocols and best practice standards.

As a valued member of the team, you will contribute to the ongoing development and efficiency of the ultrasound service, helping to maintain and enhance the department’s excellent standards. You will also actively support both individual and team objectives, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional excellence.

Main duties of the job

  • Cross-site working at Wexham Park Hospital, Heatherwood, St Mark’s, King Edward VII and Upton (December 2025) Hospitals.
  • 7 day working required within the trust.  
  • To work as a clinical sonographer delivering a high-quality ultrasound service.
  • Perform a range of obstetric and non-obstetric ultrasound examinations (general, gynae, MSK) 
  • Produce high quality ultrasound reports under the delegation of the lead radiologist for Ultrasound and in accordance with accepted practice and protocols within the Obstetrics Department. 
  • Overall responsible for contributing to providing a high quality and efficient ultrasound service. 
  • Maintains the high standards of the department by contributing to individual and team objectives.
