Job overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Estates Engineer to join our team, delivering both reactive and planned maintenance across Wexham Park Hospital and the Slough Community Diagnostic Centre. This is a varied, hands-on role that plays a vital part in keeping essential healthcare facilities safe, compliant, and fully operational. The post-holder will also participate in the Trust’s out-of-hours emergency on-call rota.
Main duties of the job
-
Carry out planned and reactive maintenance, repairs, minor improvement works and capital projects across the Trust, in line with management direction.

Ensure all work is completed in full compliance with Trust safety standards, statutory regulations, and agreed procedures.

Undertake complex and non-routine engineering tasks, using initiative and technical expertise to diagnose and resolve issues effectively.

Calibrate, maintain and fault-find on a wide range of engineering plant and equipment, including:

Low Pressure Hot Water (LPHW) systems

General air conditioning controls and systems
-
Steam raising plant and associated equipment

Steam steriliser systems

Work a standard shift pattern and actively contribute to the out-of-hours emergency on-call rota, supporting essential services when needed.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- City & Guilds qualification or NVQ equivalent
- Experience in the maintenance of mechanical plant and services
- • Experience of working on TMV’s, Air Handling units, Pumps, Motors and General Plumbing inc Tap installations
Desirable criteria
- • NVQ Level 3 Mechanical
- A‑Level Maths
Experiance
Essential criteria
- working in a large organisation
- Experience in the maintenance of mechanical plant and services
Desirable criteria
- Previous experiance working in a Hospital Enviroment
- Knowledge of HTM's
- Previous experience of mechanical systems, in particular: - ventilation systems, air conditioning systems, water systems (cold/hot water) Experience of low temperature hot water heating systems
Communication
Essential criteria
- GCSE Maths – Grade 4 (C) or above, GCSE English Language – Grade 4 (C) or above
- To have good IT skills and be proficient with computers
Desirable criteria
- A Level Maths
