Job overview

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic band 6 podiatrist, to join our friendly and experienced community podiatry team. The successful candidate will be working in a variety of settings across Sutton Health and Care, and will manage a mixed caseload including routine and high risk patients, within clinics and on domiciliary visits. You will also undertake basic biomechanical assessments and treatments, and participate in the nail surgery rota.

The post holder will be part of a very supportive and collaborative team, which has strong working relationships with other services including the Threatened Limb Service, MSK, District Nursing, Tissue Viability, Orthopaedics and Rheumatology. You will also be supported and encouraged where possible, to continue learning and developing your career and clinical skills in your areas of interest.  

Main duties of the job

To provide services at a wide variety of sites including a patient’s home, clinics, GP practices, community hospitals and in challenging conditions, often working in isolation 

To assess, diagnose, develop treatment plans and provide effective podiatric treatments, using a problem solving approach based on clinical need and evidence based practice. 

To commit to the philosophy of care with an emphasis on patient empowerment and independence by providing education and information to help patients manage their own foot needs. 

To manage clinical risk within own patient caseload seeking guidance as appropriate.  

Adhere to all of the relevant Trust Policies and Guidelines and Professional standards of care.
