Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for applications for a position as Speciality Manager within our CEPOD emergency hub in SBUHB Operating Theatres at our Morriston Hospital site.
We are looking for an experienced, highly motivated, theatre practitioner with fantastic leadership skills to support our busy team within the Theatre emergency hub as a Band 7
The post holder will be required to Manage the CEPOD emergency Theatre Team, supervise, assess, develop, implement and evaluate perioperative patient care and work closely with all disciplines to ensure the effective running of the theatre area and supported services within the Health board Theatre suites.

Main duties of the job
An exciting opportunity has arisen within our team, we are looking to recruit a committed, passionate, highly motivated and dynamic individual to lead this established, enthusiastic and hardworking team and to develop our fast-growing Theatre Team. You must have excellent communication skills; work effectively in a multidisciplinary team and have the ability to lead alongside the Senior Management delivering high standards of care and providing first class patient service.
A passion for theatre's is a must along with 2 years experience at Band 6 level within this field.
As the CEPOD Speciality Manager you will be expected to undertake both clinical and non-clinical duties.
The post holder will be involved in attaining and reporting key performance indicators. The post holder will be responsible for staff deployment, supervision and teaching within the clinical areas and provide clinical and managerial leadership to Nursing/Operating Department Practitioners and support staff.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

- Registered General Nurse or Registered Operating Department Practitioner on an appropriate part of the NMC/HPC Register
- Relevant Post Basic Theatre Course or equivalent experience Teaching and Assessing Qualification
- In possession of, or working towards an appropriate Degree Clinical expertise in operating theatre care
