Our mission statement within the Neath Port Talbot Community Reablement Team is: To promote independence and improve the daily lives of patients and their families in the community, when they need us.
We are offering an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and innovative physiotherapist to join our busy, dynamic and friendly team.
There is a strong emphasis on multi-disciplinary working especially within service development and team learning. The team work together supporting people to stay at home and thereby reducing escalating needs for secondary or social care.
The team includes occupational therapists, physiotherapists, dietitians, speech and language therapists, rehab technicians, support workers, social workers, community wellbeing officers, nurses, health care support workers and administration assistants.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will have skills in managing a range of physiotherapy needs within the community setting. They will be able to participate in the development of the physiotherapy service within the MDT and have some supervisory responsibilities.
Continuing professional development is actively supported via clinical supervision and personal development plans, post graduate training and in service training (uni professionally and multi professionally).
This position is in the community ability to move around the Neath Port Talbot area independently is essential.

- Evidence of remaining up to date with professional practice and new research
- Excellent communication skills
- Supervision of other staff e.g. assistants /technical instructors
Evidence of maintained CPD
Essential criteria
- Evidence of CPD maintained in a portfolio including attendance at recent postgraduate courses relevant to the clinical fields in rotations
Experience and knowledge
Essential criteria
- Substantial broad range of experience as a band 5 physiotherapist in a NHS rotational physiotherapy post
- Experience of working as part of a physiotherapy team and/or multi-disciplinary team
- Contributing to clinical education of less experienced staff or students or assistants
- Knowledge of the workings of community physiotherapy services and intermediate care services
- Involvement in audit, research and understanding quality issues
- Previous experience working in the NHS
