Job overview

Swansea Bay University Health Board is seeking to recruit three Project Managers to the Health Board’s Recovery & Sustainability Team to support and drive service changes in a sustainable way.

Reporting to the Principal Project Manager within the Recovery & Sustainability team, you will work closely with senior managers and clinicians across the Health Board to plan and implement the specific projects within the Recovery & Sustainability Programme.

The candidates should be able to demonstrate success in managing complex service changes involving engagement with multiple stakeholders.
We are looking for skilled and enthusiastic individuals who embrace transformational change and who want to be part of this new and exciting programme.

Main duties of the job

The Senior Project Manager will manage one or more specific large-scale projects across the organisation in collaboration 
with colleagues and partners including lead responsibility for the interpretation of national policy within the specialist 
area 
• The project(s) may be part of a programme, or large stand-alone and they will be expected to be the planning lead
with a high level of autonomy.
• Manage project staff.
• Be responsible for the overall progress of the Project and use of resources, initiating corrective action where
appropriate.
• Ensure the scope and objectives of the programmes are clear and interdependencies are managed.
• Work with senior managers and teams to identify opportunities for continual service improvement by utilising
programme and project management methodologies.

Essential criteria
  • Educated to Postgraduate Diploma level in a relevant subject or equivalent experience
  • Evidence of continued professional Development
  • Project and/or Programme management office qualification, PRINCE2, MSP or equivalent experience
Desirable criteria
  • Masters level qualification

Experience

  • Experience of management and managing successful projects
  • Effective partnership working in the public sector
  • Experience of effective stakeholder working with external bodies

  • Experience as a formal project manager.
  • Experience of working within the NHS

Aptitude and abilities

  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills

  • Advanced IT skills in a range of desktop applications e.g., Excel, Power BI
