We are looking to recruit to two DCT 2 posts in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery to commence 3rd September 2025 to 1st September 2026 only.
The successful candidate(s) will have the opportunity to attend outpatient clinics and treatment sessions. Experience will be gained working closely with medical and surgical colleagues in all clinical areas of OMFS. The candidate(s) will attend theatre sessions and encouraged to develop their surgical skills appropriate for their level.
Main duties of the job
The candidate(s)will be part of 7 1st tier trainees that includes a core surgical trainee. The working pattern is a 7-week cycle (1:7) rotating through operating theatres, outpatient activities including treatment sessions, day case theatre, ward and on call duties. The post includes resident out of hours on call duties based at Morriston Hospital. The trainee on-call commitment will be a split between weekdays and weekend covering days or nights in a rolling rota.
The candidate (s) will have the opportunity to attend outpatient clinics and treatment sessions. Experience will be gained working closely with medical and surgical colleagues in all clinical areas of OMFS. The trainee will attend theatre sessions and encouraged to develop their surgical skills appropriate for their level. The trainee will be encouraged to participate in a quality improvement project / clinical audit and there are opportunities to pursue research
The successful candidate (s) will be required to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary Clinical Team to promote the safety and well-being of the patients, under the supervision of an OMFS middle grade and Consultant
The service works closely with our partner organisations, both statutory and voluntary, and has established links with local General Practitioners
