Job overview

An opportunity has arisen within the Catering Department at The Freeman Hospital  for 2 Full Time Catering Assistant to work as a part of our team working in the Freeman Catering Department serving  food to staff, visitors and patients, as a part of the  team you will also be responsible for the cleanliness of the department in line with food hygiene regulations and trust policies. Please note we are open 365 days a year.

Both Posts are Catering Assistant posts

Working - 5 days over 7

Shift Times you will be working - 07:00 to 15:00 and 11:30 to 19:30

Post 1 - is working in the pan wash area

post 2 - is working as a kitchen porter

Main duties of the job

Post 1

  • Working in the pan wash area of the Kitchen, ensuring utensils are clean for the chefs/staff.
  • Working on the patient belt loading  the patient trolleys, placing food on the plate to ensure patient gets the food they require.
  • Working in the dish wash  placing the crockery through the washers.
  • Filling in of departmental paper work.
  • General cleaning duties within the department.
  • At all times following food hygiene and trust policy regulations.
  • Any other general Duties.

Post 2 

  • Cleaning of the equipment within the department to ensure the smooth running of food production to aid the chefs.
  • Taking out rubbish.
  • Working on the patient belt loading  the patient trolleys, placing food on the plate to ensure patient gets the food they require.
  • Working in the dish wash area Cleaning  the trolleys and placing the crockery through the washers.
  • Filling in of departmental paper work.
  • General cleaning duties within the department.
  • At all times following food hygiene and trust policy regulations.
