Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated radiographer to join our Plain Film Radiology team. You will work across all areas of plain film imaging including:
- Accident and Emergency
- Out-Patients (including satellite sites)
- In-Patients
- Theatre
- Portables

You must be a registered HCPC Diagnostic Radiographer currently practising within the NHS, and we will be happy to support newly qualified staff commencing their career and will a full preceptorship programme.
This is an exceptional opportunity for a committed professional with strong interpersonal skills to develop their experience within a busy clinical environment. The post holder will need to have excellent organisational and communication skills to ensure they can work effectively within an often busy and demanding environment , to ensure Radiology continues to provide a high quality service to all its users.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will assist in the provision of a high quality radiographic service by performing general radiographic duties within the Radiology Department and supporting the Department in providing a timely radiographic service on a 24/7 basis.
The post holder will be flexible in their approach as the Radiology Department is constantly changing so that it can provide a service that meets Local and National Modernisation Agendas.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
- Establish and maintain communication with staff and patients on routine operational matters and overcoming any differences in communication between those involved.
- Development your own skills and knowledge and provide information to others to help their development.
- Monitor and maintain Health & Safety & Security.
- Contribute to Service Development, Quality Improvements and take an active role in Safecare (Clinical Governance) activities. Support Lead Radiographer in improving quality of service whilst working towards the Imaging Services Accreditation Scheme.
- To be flexible and supportive of the changes within the Radiology Department that is in response to Local and National Modernisation Agendas for example seven day working
- Support people’s Equal Diversity and Rights.
- Assist in monitoring and protecting groups and individuals whose health & well-being may be at risk with respect to radiation safety.
- Plan, monitor and evaluate the movement of people and goods.
- Input and process patient data, when required.
- Adaptation of skills and knowledge along side technological advancements are essential to service developments and improvements, which enhance overall patient care.
