Job overview
The post holder will be responsible for directly supporting the Hospice at Home team in Gateshead with the administration and co-ordination of services and schedules.
They will provide vital administrative support to the team which provides domiciliary care to patients at the end of life who wish to be cared for at home.
The post holder will also work alongside the End of Life care facilitator to support with the administration required for Palliative and End of Life care education across the trust.
Main duties of the job
- Support and assist the Nurse Coordinator to successfully deliver all activities relating to the day to day business of the team. This will include the planning of home visits for a team of Band 3 support workers.
- Responsible for the development and delivery of high quality administration processes to aid the delivery of safe and effective clinical services in a community setting.
- Respond to external and internal telephone enquiries and take appropriate action as a result of the enquiry.
- Prioritise telephone calls regarding patient information and potential interventions, taking all necessary action for the call to be handled as quickly and efficiently as possible.
- Respond and manage any e-mail queries and requests for meetings on behalf of the team.
- Maintain the diary of the Nurse Coordinator and any other designated team member· Scheduling appointments and resolving conflicting diary appointments.·
- Preparing agendas, collating papers and distributing documents to meeting attendees as directed by the Nurse Coordinator.
- Dealing with and collating data. Contribute to the preparation and development of multiple reports of varying content,
- Preparation of presentations, letters and other documents to a very high standard.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Good standards of general educationminimum of 4 GCSE’s of equivalent including Math’s and English Language grade 4.
- Educated to NVQ level 3 (at least in Business administration or equivalent knowledge/experience

- Knowledge of computer packages: Word, Excel, Access, Outlook and Powerpoint Knowledge of Data Protection and Calidcott Principles
