Main duties of the job
Working on one of the outpatient reception areas within the hospital checking patients in for appointments and scheduling new appointments.
Answering a high volume of telephone calls. Ensuring all patient notes are available for their appointments.

• Northern Centre for Cancer Care, North Cumbria
• Northern Genetics Service
• Cramlington Manor Walks

- To provide an efficient and effective administrative service to patients and the multi- disciplinary team.

QUALIFICATIONS
Essential criteria
- GCSE in English Grade C or equivalent or
- NVQ Level 2 or equivalent.
Desirable criteria
- ECDL
- RSA 1 or 2 or equivalent
SKILLS
Essential criteria
- Very good keyboard skills
- Good communication, organisational skills
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Good interpersonal skills
- Able to prioritise workload
- Excellent telephone manner
EXPERIENCE
Essential criteria
- Previous experience in a customer care role within an office based environment
Desirable criteria
- Working within NHS or hospital environment
KNOWLEDGE
Essential criteria
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
Desirable criteria
- PAS / eRecord
Applicant requirements
