Community Psychiatric Nurse

We are seeking to recruit a Community Nurses, Band 5 to work in the Older Persons Community Treatment Team for Newcastle & North Tyneside. The Team are currently based at the Centre for the Health of the Elderly, Campus for Ageing & Vitality and cover a large urban/ semi urban geographical area.

We are looking for suitably qualified people who are dynamic and keen to enhance their knowledge and skills in community mental health. The role will involve working with other Health & Social Care Professionals to support the management and treatment of older adults with a full spectrum of mental health conditions including cognitive disorders. Physical co morbidity or other age related complexity is often a significant factor and a good understanding of illness common in later life is desirable.

Applicants will possess good communication and interpersonal skills, be focused and well organized and have an interest and commitment to work with older people. The ability to be flexible and responsive as well as a positive attitude to team work is important for this post

All clinical posts are subject to DBS clearance (formerly CRB) prior to commencement.

You will work in a highly supported environment as part of the wider Newcastle locality Team and will be provided with training opportunities and mentorship as appropriate to develop your knowledge and skills. You must have a strong commitment to the delivery of high quality, safe, patient care and be a good role model in reflecting the Trusts core Values.
