Job overview
To be responsible for co-ordinating the day to day delivery of IT clinical, desktop and business system training to end users Trust-wide and the administration of test centres in line with audit requirements to maintain accreditation.
Main duties of the job
Duties for this role include:
- To be responsible for co-ordinating the day to day delivery of IT clinical, desktop and business system training to end users Trust-wide and the administration of test centres in line with audit requirements to maintain accreditation.
- To be responsible for the design, development, delivery and support of a full range of IM&T training - clinical, business and desktop enabling Trust staff and external customers to work more effectively with Information Technology.
- Responsible through work activities in meeting national education, training and development standards for quality.
- Education of Trust staff in relation to IM&T within NHS guidelines to deliver local and National strategies.
- Act as deputy for Team Leader.
- Act as first-line lead trainer delivering clinical, desktop and business system training thus ensuring staff have the knowledge of how to use the systems. This will involve participation in “train the trainer” programmes.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Essential
Qualifications:
- Degree level education or equivalent level or relevant experience.
- Institute of IT training’s Training Assessment Programme Qualification
Or experience of training IT products in a post 16 environment.
- Knowledge and holder of European Computer Driving Licens
Experience:
- Experience of using the Windows Operating System
- A sound theoretical knowledge of Hardware, Software and the Internet
- Planning and organisational skills to ensure timely training delivery
- Awareness of local and national IM&T education and training strategies
- Demonstrates effective interpersonal, organisational, presentation and communication skills (oral and written)
- Highly developed interpersonal skills and ability to create and maintain effective working relationships with all service users internal and external
- Capable of developing and delivering system user training programmes for all levels of staff
- Must possess a comprehensive range of practical analytical, statistical and numerical skills in order to analyse and report on training activity and none attendance.
- Ability to work using own initiative, motivating service users to achieve their objectives
- Must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of users
Desirable
Qualifications/Experience
- Practical experience of training or teaching of Microsoft products.
- Knowledge of clinical systems used within the Trust and NHS
- Microsoft Office Specialist Qualification or extensive experience of using the Microsoft Office suite
