A highly motivated, enthusiastic individual is required for the role of Senior Library Assistant to assist in the provision of an effective library and information service to all staff and students within the Trust.


Duties include accessing health information in both electronic and paper format, dealing with inter-library loans, providing assistance to library users, and general library and administrative duties. You will work as part of a team, but must be able to use your initiative and take responsibility. You should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, good IT skills and the ability to organise and prioritise your work.


The Trust Library and Information Service has libraries on both the Freeman and RVI sites. The post involves working mostly at the RVI Library though there is an expectation that the post holder will also travel and work at the Freeman Library and other Trust sites as required. Usual hours are Tuesday-Friday but some flexibility may be required on occasion.
