An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Coventry and Warwickshire Integrated Care Board to come and work in our Continuing Healthcare Team within Coventry and North Warwickshire.

Coventry and Warwickshire Integrated Care Board is looking for a Clinical Lead Occupational Therapist to  join their CHC team, with responsibility for providing specialist occupational therapy assessment, advice and recommendations for the provision of  care and specialist equipment, through the application of evidence based interventions, particularly in relation to moving and handling

Main duties of the job

To comply with the Royal College of Occupational Therapy Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct and national and local policies and procedures.

To assess individuals with disabilities, to identify their moving and handling requirements and carry out moving and handling risk assessments resulting in safe and effective risk reduction.

 To demonstrate advanced knowledge and skills in the use and application of relevant equipment, enabling, and where relevant teaching others to use it safely and competently.

To recommend and arrange provision of specific equipment and/or handling techniques to ensure individual and carer safety in manual handling. Written instructions will be given to the individual/carers and will need to be recorded on the Broadcare database

 To maintain a safe system of working, monitoring and reporting on own caseload and capacity, working closely with line managers.

Ensure a safe working environment by adhering to ICB policies and Health and Safety guidelines as well as undertaking risk assessments on a regular basis.

To apply national guidelines/legislation relating to health and social care in provision of Occupational Therapy within the Continuing Healthcare service delivered by the CHC team.

Apply acquired skills and knowledge of professional practice in order to ensure fitness to practice as an Occupational Therapist.

  • Registered with Health Care Professionals Council
  • Post registered experience minimum of 5 years
  • Range of experience, specialisms and setting

  • High level of knowledge of disability equipment
