We are excited to offer an excellent opportunity for a skilled and motivated Optometrist to join our dynamic Optometry Team at UHCW!

We are seeking an Optometrist with proven experience in core Hospital Optometry services, including adult and paediatric refractions, medical contact lenses, and low vision rehabilitation. This position also offers opportunities for advancement into extended roles such as pre- and post-operative cataract management and eye casualty services.

Interviews are scheduled for Monday, 21st July. We look forward to finding the right fit for our team!

Successful applicants will be required to provide an immunisation and vaccination report, from either their current UK occupational health provider or their UK GP.

Main duties of the job

We are actively seeking applications for the Band 7 Senior Optometrist position to strengthen our Optometry Team at UHCW NHS Trust.

As a vital member of our team, you will collaborate closely with the Principal Optometrist to deliver a comprehensive range of Optometric services, ensuring the highest standards of quality and care across our two hospital sites: UHCW and Rugby St Cross.

In addition, you will take on the critical responsibility of teaching and training at the postgraduate level across multiple disciplines within ophthalmology. Your expertise and leadership will be essential to our success.

We are hiring to a full time position, but would consider part time working at a minimum of 22.5 hours/week (9am - 5pm 3 days) and additional Saturday morning working)

The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our educational program for pre-registration optometrists and will actively train ophthalmologists, nurses, and other professionals within our organisation.

Additionally, due to recent changes in service provision, the candidate must be prepared to contribute to the Saturday morning Eye Casualty Triage service.
