Vacancy for Team Lead, Band 7, Dudley CAMHS Children in Care

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Team Lead of the above named multi-disciplinary team which has developed with Black Country Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. 

 

 

 

 

 

Main duties of the job

This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and highly experienced professional to help lead our Children in Care Team. We are looking to recruit a compassionate Team Lead that is dedicated to the health and wellbeing of all children and young people referred into the service.  Black Country Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust values are at the centre of our care and we would expect the successful applicant to embrace these values and embed them into the work of the Children in Care Team.

Working for our organisation

We are a recently formed service for children in care (up to age 18 years old). The aim of the service is to help children and young people in care to achieve improved emotional health and wellbeing enabling them to engage in meaningful relationships, participate positively in the community, and take advantage of opportunities in education and learning 

It aims to meet the specific and often complex psychological health and well being needs of children in care and the systems in which they are cared for. The service is multi-faceted and includes highly specialist assessments, individual therapeutic support using evidence based practice, advice, consultation, and supervision. The Children in Care Team Lead will be working to provide evidence based support and measuring outcomes to contribute to service development in meeting young people’s needs.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

The successful applicant will need to have an abundance of leadership skills, excellent communication skills, data reporting skills, a high level of clinical knowledge and be able to act autonomously and accurately with high levels of accountability. 

Full induction training, supervision and a personal development programme will be provided.

 

Person specification

Education

Essential criteria
  • • Professional qualification in a mental health related subject, e.g. Registered Mental Health Nurse, Occupational Therapist, Social Worker or equivalent.
  • • Degree/equivalent experience in CAMHS related field
Desirable criteria
  • • Completed training in DDP level 1 and 2
  • • Completed training in Theraplay
  • • Completed training in EMDR, DBT or similar therapeutic approach

Experience

Essential criteria
  • • Demonstrates the ability to assess and manage the complex mental health needs of children and young people in care.
Desirable criteria
  • • Experience of team lead role
