Job overview
Working as part of the Trust’s EPRR team, the post holder will support the daily operation of BCHFTs emergency preparedness, resilience and response functions, and the enhancement and embedding of the resilience culture across the Trust, including delivery of the Trust EPRR and Business Continuity Management (BCM) work programme to maintain compliance with the NHS England EPRR Core standards and associated guidance.
Main duties of the job
- Assist the Trust and its staff in achieving agreed key aims and objectives linked to the national, regional and local resilience agenda.
- Undertake a range of emergency preparedness activities commensurate with the role, including hazard identification, risk assessment and consulting on and embedding EPRR service improvements in line with the emergency planning cycle.
- Coordinate the collection of evidence for the annual EPRR Core Standards self‑assessment, evidence collation and action tracking.
- Assist wards and departments across the Trust with risk identification, business impact analysis and continuity risk registers.
- Maintain logs, trackers and dashboards as required for monitoring and reporting training and exercising, incidents, and lesson management against Trust KPIs . Track the need for training, by individual, as required, and facilitate the booking of courses.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Advise strategic and tactical commanders during incident response, and monitor external events for potential impacts on the Trust. This will require making judgements involving highly complex facts or situations, which require the analysis, interpretation and comparison of a range of options, and may be during highly distressing or highly emotional circumstances.
Lead complex risk assessments and options appraisals across Trust services, balancing patient safety, service continuity, finance and workforce constraints to recommend preferred solutions.
Responsible for the development and implementation of emergency plans and policies for the Trust in relation to EPRR, on-call and escalation, and business continuity management.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Diploma in Dip. HEP or equivalent EPRR qualification
- Experience working in EPRR roles in a complex organisation
- Experience of delivering training to a wide range of staff at all levels
Applicant requirements
The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
