COVID-19 Vacancy RMN or Occupational Therapist AAW Group Treatment Service

NHS AfC: Band 5

We’re a large NHS Mental Health Trust in South East England. We’re looking for people to help us provide high quality services for the patients, carers and local communities we serve.

We want patients and staff to recommend our organisation as a place where they would be happy for their friends and family to be treated. You can help us do this by bringing your skills, experience and commitment to Sussex Partnership.

Sussex Partnership NHS FT is committed to supporting a diverse workforce that reflects our communities.   Our workforce is currently under-represented from Black and Minority, Ethnic and disabled communities and we would welcome applications from these communities.

Job overview

Our Group Treatment Service is looking for a highly motivated mental health practitioner (RMN) or Occupational Therapist to join the Adur, Arun and Worthing  (AAW)  Group Treatment Service for a permanent position. You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and provide specialist assessment, treatment and care supporting our care pathways for patients with affective and personality disorders.

You will manage a caseload and provide group interventions and individual support as required. You will be offered regular individual and group supervision including access to complex case formulation and relevant training to support your professional development.

You must be enthusiastic, self-motivated, flexible and able to work as part of a multidisciplinary team. Effective communication and leadership skills, a sound clinical knowledge base, an interest in group work and a commitment to caring for patients in the community must be demonstrated.

Main duties of the job

The  AAW Group Treatment Service (GTS) is an ageless service offering a programme of accessible, safe, evidence-based group treatments using a cognitive behavioural approach, including mindfulness and self-compassion.  The successful candidate will work within the multi-disciplinary team to deliver safe patient care focused on therapeutic relationships.  Alongside the psycho-educational group programmes, the GTS offers a creative group pathway that provides a safe therapeutic space where service users can develop concentration, challenge social anxiety and practice new coping skills.

Currently we are running our group program using online platforms due to coronavirus (COVID-19) restrictions.  However, this guidance is subject to change.

Working for our organisation

The GTS provides an excellent supervision package to facilitate this learning.  The AAW  Group Treatment Service is based over three sites-  Adur Arun and Worthing. The post holder will be required to travel across sites.

This post offers a Golden Hello, or a Relocation package up to a maximum of £2000. (pro rata applies and subject to terms and conditions. Please see attached Protocol document).
