NHS adult Community mental health services are transforming and we are establishing integrated Neighbourhood Mental Health teams across East Sussex. The Hill Rise service is based in the seaside town of Newhaven, set in the beautiful South Downs National Park and only a few miles from Brighton.
This post is open to experienced Mental Health Nurses, Social Workers and Occupational Therapists. It is a generic Team Management role but we will also commit to supporting your on-going professional development.
We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, talented and clinically experienced team lead, who can function equally well independently and within a multi-disciplinary team, dealing with clients with complex and enduring mental health needs in a community setting.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for a warm and friendly clinician with excellent communication and interpersonal skills who is compassionate, accountable and innovative.
You will be critical in building trusting relationships with local partners and instrumental in improving our service reputation and public confidence.
As team leader you will be supporting and supervising the team, managing any day to day issues, ensuring the team works within the budget and successfully achieves required quality targets.
You will be required to carry out some clinical work and demonstrate developed clinical skills with proven experience and be able to work effectively with other professionals to manage complex and demanding situations.
You will be joining a committed and dynamic team and will be fully supported and empowered to develop new ways of working and quality improvement.

The main responsibilities of the role are to be responsible and provide effective leadership for the clinical team, providing a high quality service within the resources available within the area and specifically to deliver on the following key areas:
Management of referrals including delivery of care
Performance monitoring and management
Line Management and supervision of staff.

Essential criteria
- Educated to minimum diploma level with a relevant qualification or equivalent experience
- Evidence of CPD
Knowledge/Experience
Essential criteria
- Significant experience of and demonstrable achievement in clinical practice
- Experience of providing professional support/supervision and motivation of staff
- Understanding of Health and Social Care Governance
- Experience of managing staff
