Job overview

The SORT Facilitators will be responsible for delivering training sessions for the delivery of Chemical, Biological, Radiation and Nuclear (CBRN) and Marauding Terrorist Attack (MTA) training to SECAmb uplift / HART staff.

Successful applicants will be clinically focused who are able to use their skills in challenging environments.

You should be a self-motivated, innovative and flexible individual with excellent communication and organizing skills who should also have experience in working within the NHS.

The SORT Facilitator is accountable to the Head of Specialist Operations for the delivery of the service by providing expert knowledge, skill and direction in the delivery of training and assurance. To take responsibility as part of SECAmb SORT for providing professional education, training, and learning opportunities.

 

Main duties of the job

The SORT facilitators will work predominantly Monday to Friday, office hours, with the occasional weekends / nights to deliver training or facilitate / attend exercises or live response - any unsocial hours worked will be paid as per Agenda for Change Section 2.

The role includes but is to limited to:

  • Ensuring SORT training and SORT PCAs are successfully completed as per NARU requirements.
  • Working in collaboration with clinical governance and managerial colleagues to provide assessment and mentoring opportunities that will contribute to the improvement in the quality of patient care and clinical outcomes.
  • Supplying specialist educational support and guidance to SORT staff and Commanders in order to improve the dissemination of learning within localities and facilitate the continuing professional development of staff.
  • Attending training away from the base as and when required
  • Undertaking training and audits of CBRN capabilities at acute hospital and partner agency sits and have an individual portfolio of stakeholders.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

 

The successful candidate must be able to pass the necessary security clearance required for the role, be physically fit and will be required to obtain a level 2 fitness coach qualification which is essential to the role. A teaching / training qualification Is required for the role but this can be provided to the successful candidate.
