Qualifications

Essential criteria

Educated to Degree level in a relevant subject (such as Mathematics, Economics, Statistics or a related quantitative or analytical discipline) or equivalent level of qualification or significant equivalent previous proven experience in analytics.

Desirable criteria

Information Management Qualification or other relevant qualification e.g. BCS

KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE

Essential criteria

Extensive experience of using a range of analytical techniques to derive insight and inform improvement work
Demonstrate an understanding of large datasets and data sources including the quality and reliability of the data
Experience of triangulating data from different sources and demonstrate an appreciation of the differences that might occur in large datasets
Significant experience of designing, developing and publishing reports and dashboards across a broad range of areas using PowerBI
Thorough understanding of NHS data definitions, reporting requirements, sources and information flows
Experience of using process mapping techniques
Expert use of relevant analysis software (Microsoft Excel – essential; PowerBI – Desirable; "R" / Python – Desirable)
Significant experience of extracting and processing data from multiple source systems using SQL
In depth knowledge of the principles of data management and quality assurance
Experience of developing clear and engaging reports and dashboards
