Are you a passionate Occupational Therapist looking for an exciting new challenge to develop your skills within a community mental health care setting? A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a for a full-time Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join our well-established Adult Community Mental Health Team in the multicultural city of Bradford, working for Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust at Bradford City CMHT based at Horton Park Centre.
As a service we have developed innovative ways of delivering recovery focused intervention to support people in their individual recovery journey including a variety of occupationally focused interventions.
The team comprises of Doctors, Occupational Therapist, Nurses, Psychologists, Art Therapist, Social workers, support and peer workers delivering a recovery focused service based upon our Care Closer To Home initiative. The ideal candidate will have a dynamic approach to working as part of the MDT whilst delivering the core skills and values of Occupational Therapy. The successful candidate will be responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of working age adults and will offer specific Occupational Therapy interventions, alongside developing skills in care coordinating service users with an occupational therapy focus.

Main duties of the job
• To manage a clinical caseload as part of a specialist community mental health team
• To ensure safe, appropriate and effective rehabilitation interventions that meet the needs of the target population through advice, advocacy and professional knowledge as an Occupational Therapist.
• To input evidence-based specialist Occupational Therapy skills to the multi-disciplinary service.
• To be a proactive team member in respect of communication, team administration, quality of service and service development.
• To provide supervision and support to colleagues.
• To provide good quality practice placement education.

Essential criteria
- Degree or equivalent pre-registration award in Occupational Therapy.
- registered with the Health and Care Professions Council.
Desirable criteria
- Professional Practice education accreditation
Experience
Essential criteria
- Significant post registration experience of delivering occupational therapy in hospital or community setting
- Experience of working with people with a range of mental health problems
Desirable criteria
- Supporting other members of staff Professional practice education of Occupational Therapy students
- Experience of having acted as a Care Co-ordinator.
- Contribution to service development
