Paediatric Audiologist/Clinical Scientist

Job overview

We are looking for enthusiastic, experienced Paediatric Clinical Scientist / Audiologist to join our large, friendly, multi-disciplinary Audiology team.

The Service has excellent links with a highly rated Newborn Hearing Screening Programme and the regional Cochlea Implant Service which are both based on the same Bradford Royal Infirmary site.

You should hold an MSc in Audiology or be trained to M level, have appropriate NHS experience consistent with your qualifications, and hold professional registration.

Main duties of the job

The post entails working as part of a multidisciplinary team providing highly specialized paedaitric audiological services, including advanced and complex assessment and rehabilitation of hearing impaired children.

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Working within Paediatric Audiology
Desirable criteria
  • Leading and developing an area of Audiology
  • Involvement /leadership of audit and research

Skills

Essential criteria
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to deal sensitively and politely with patients
  • Able to work confidently with staff at all levels
  • Good organisational skills
  • Good analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to interpret and communicate complex information

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Specialist Knowledge of Paediatric Audiology
  • IT skills and experience in database operation

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Band 6 and appropriate post graduate training , MSc in Audiology with CAC/HTS, or STP Audiology
  • RCCP or HPC Registration
Desirable criteria
  • Mentorship/Supervision qualification
  • Hold a full driving licence and has access to a car
  • Sign Language Skills/Qualification
