Support Worker Marwood Park - Full-time Hours

Job overview

We are looking for support workers to assist in the daily living needs of 6 adult males with varying physical and learning disabilities.  The support workers will work on a 1-1 basis with one client at a time in their own homes.

The role involves working days nights and weekends as the clients require 24 hour support.  Experience is desirable however not essential as attitude and personality are more important, experience is gained over time and all training will be provided.

A driving licence is desirable as is a willingness to take clients out in their own vehicles.

 

Main duties of the job

As a support worker the clients at Marwood Park will rely on you to help them with all aspects of their lives.

Staff will be responsible for assisting with personal care needs, medication administration and management, preparing all meals and drinks (in line with the support plans), assisting with mobility and accessing the community (this may include using public transport, own vehicle or via their wheelchair), completing all documentation in line with company policy and legal requirements, liaising with family and medical professionals.

Other duties will be required based upon the needs of the client and service, the list above is not exclusive.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

The successful candidate will show patience, compassion and understanding towards the clients during all interactions.

The support workers will provide physical support with personal care including washing, dressing and continence care. They will be required to administer medications following the detailed care and support plans for the client they are supporting that day. To ensure that meals are prepared in accordance with any specific dietary requirements and any issues are reported to managers and medical professionals.

To ensure the client is supported to obtain medical treatment by making appointments and supporting them to attend those appointments, to update manager and support plans with any changes in the clients needs.

To ensure the clients finances are managed in accordance with St Annes policies and report any concerns or irregularities.

To undertake all household tasks such as cooking, cleaning, shopping and laundry on behalf of the client.

To ensure documentation is completed in a timely and accurate manor.

To undertake any other duty not listed that is deemed necessary for the benefit of the client and the service provided by St Annes Community Services.
