Job overview

We are looking for  a confident  senior neonatal nurse to work  as part of the team on the neonatal unit.He/she must have the passion, enthusiasm, skills and knowledge to provide strong leadership on the unit. you will be able to energize, inspire and empower families and staff with a commitment to individualized nursing care and family integrated care

 

Main duties of the job

You will be responsible for leading the neonatal team as they work toward. You will be able to access and recognize neonatal emergencies and be able to support your peers and junior staff. You will have the knowledge, confidence and clinical experience to provide support and education to all staff.

Working for our organisation

The Neonatal Unit in Calderdale is a level two unit with 20 cots comprising 3 ICU, 3 HDU and 14 Special care. We are a friendly unit dedicated to making a difference for the neonatal population and their families. 

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

The post holder will be be responsible for delivering all aspects of Family Integrated Care working with parents as partners in care . You must have the ability to motivate yourself and others  and be personally and professionally mature.

The post holder will  assist in the management and organisation of nursing  work in the ward/department.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Registration with NMC (RGN/RSCN/RN/RM)
  • ENB 405 or equivalent
  • NLS
  • ENB 998 or equivalent
  • Willingness to undertake the ENP course with a specified time to be agreed

KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE & EXPERTISE

Essential criteria
  • Significant experience at Band 5 following QIS
  • Knowledge of dealing with conflict and change
  • Evidence of promoting innovation and improvement in service
  • Knowledge of future provision of services within the network
  • Works within budgetary parameters

COMMUNICATION AND RELATIONSHIPS (INCLUDING MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES)

Essential criteria
  • Caring and calm manner with an understanding disposition
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills
  • Ability to foster multi-disciplinary working
