We are looking for a highly motivated and dynamic Ward Sister/Charge Nurse to work on our Gastroenterology ward. The successful applicant must have a minimum of 1 year ward experience as a band 5 nurse.

Ward 17 is a 24 bedded unit specialising in the care of patients with all gastro related conditions i.e. IBD, Alcoholic Liver Disease and all liver related illness/cancers, digestive/dietary conditions.

This is an amazing opportunity to be involved in the moving forward and development of this speciality.

Main duties of the job

You will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of a fast paced,  acute medical ward, alongside providing a high standard of nursing care to all patients. In addition, you will be expected to work collaboratively with the Multi-disciplinary team as well.

Excellent communication and management skills are imperative along with a commitment to build and motivate an effective team.

Due to the high acuity/dependency and adverse patient group, you will be expected to be dynamic, highly motivated and have the ability to work in a very busy and demanding environment.

All candidates must be able to work a flexible work pattern as nights and weekends are included.
