Job overview
We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 6 radiographer to join the existing MRI Team.
Staff must be happy to work on the CRH and HRI sites and Huddersfield CDC once open.
Extended working days and weekend working will form part of the role and applicants should be happy to take part in doing this.
Main duties of the job
We currently have four MRI scanners for the Trust, two new Phillips scanners on the CRH site, and on the Huddersfield site a replacement program underway that will provide two new scanners (one 3T). The Huddersfield CDC opens this year which will also house a new MRI scanner
We provide both an out-patient and in-patient service including a very wide range of examinations such as cardiac, vascular, obstetric and paediatric via GA and distraction.
You will be working in a busy environment, on a flexible hours rota, across both sites.
You will be required to work both within the team and autonomously. You should have excellent communication skills and be committed to providing a high standard of care.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
· Accept referrals from other clinicians and be responsible for the care of those patients as per agreed protocols.
· Undertake duties as necessary.
· Able to deal with high pressure demands from service users, ensuring patient care is not compromised.
· Work as part of a team on all MRI scanners within the Trust, but also autonomously, prioritising and managing own workload.

QUALIFICATIONS / TRAINING
Essential criteria
- BSc/DCR
- HCPC Registration
- IV Cannulation Course
Desirable criteria
- Post Graduate Qualification in modality
KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE & EXPERTISE
Essential criteria
- Good broad experience of general radiography and evidence of recent continuous experience in speciality.
- Substantial recent experience of working as an MRI Radiographer
- Good working knowledge of the MHRA Safety Guidelines for MRI and Health and Safety at work policies
- Ability to use initiative, be methodical, accurate and practical.
- IT keyboard skills and computer literate
Desirable criteria
- Experience of cardiac scanning
- Evidence of involvement in Research and Audit
- Experience of NHS working
COMMUNICATION AND RELATIONSHIPS (INCLUDING MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES)
Essential criteria
- Friendly, reliable, good communicator and team worker
- Ability to organise other staff, prioritise work and solve problems
