Detailed job description and main responsibilities

In this Clinical Informatics role, you will join a varied pool of clinicians from different professions, working on products and services across NHS England's Transformation Directorate. You will play a key role in shaping the safe delivery of national programmes to provide clear benefits for citizens and patients, and support clinicians to provide better care.

Our Clinicians provide the framework and direction for our Clinical Informaticians working across programmes and involved in large scale change, as well as providing a key clinical voice to programme teams within Transformation Directorate.

Secondments

Qualifications

Essential criteria

Currently registered and regulated health or social care professional with significant evidence of continued professional development

Desirable criteria

You will be a UK registered clinician with proven credibility and the ability to command respect from clinical and non-clinical professionals

Knowledge

Essential criteria

Extensive knowledge in the development and maintenance of Clinical Decision Support Systems such as NHS Pathways.

Desirable criteria

Proven high-level experience of supporting delivery of complex change and strategy development programmes in a politically sensitive and complex environment

Skills

Essential criteria

Ability to clearly communicate informatics-related work, including being able to explain the clinical requirements and safety processes to non-clinical stakeholders so that they understand them and can comply with safety and assurance processes
Evidence of ensuring that there is a clinical safety focus throughout the life cycle of programmes and services

Desirable criteria

Demonstrable experience of clinical governance frameworks with a strategic understanding of clinical risk and clinical safety, applied through risk assessment and clinical safety methodology
Demonstrable people and professional leadership skills that empower, support, and develop teams to achieve the high performance and enable team members to reach their full potential
