Job overview
To be considered for this role you will need to have demonstrable agile project or delivery management experience, preferably in the recruitment field.
Oriel is the national platform used to deliver recruitment to Medical, Dental, Pharmacy and Healthcare Science training programmes across the UK.
The current service supports the digital tools and associated processes connected to the recruitment onto training programmes of several professions. This is recognised as a critical service due to its role in supporting the future NHS workforce.
The team have recently completed a Discovery and Alpha as they prepare to deliver a new national recruitment service over the next two to three years.
Colleagues with a contractual office base are expected to spend, on average, at least 40% of their time working in-person.
Main duties of the job
This role will support the delivery of the live service ensuring continuous service provision in national recruitment including ‘business as usual’ activity as well as implementation of business critical changes associated with the introduction of new policy.
In addition to this, the post-holder will support the transition to a new service and will contribute to the next phase of this work including procurement activity and progressing to Beta stage and beyond.
The post-holder will work with the product / service team, stakeholders, users and other third parties to plan and manage delivery in line with good practice, internal compliance and governance, and the Service Standard.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
As the Oriel Delivery Manager, you will drive the delivery and development of the service;
- You will build, motivate and support the product team ensuring that they are focused, responsive and delivering value
- You will have a clear understanding of delivery methods and practices
- You will use a range of agile methodologies to deliver products and services in an iterative way removing obstacles and blockers which hinder delivery progress
- You will be confident in working with end-users to identify business needs in the form of user stories and, in turn, work with the development team to iteratively achieve high quality outcomes that are user-centred
- You will use your knowledge of user-centred design and the GDS Service Standard to drive transformation and improve products and services.
- You will work closely with stakeholders, breaking down barriers and planning at a high level, and at a detailed level where necessary
- You will work across product teams and functions, as well as with third party organisations, especially when managing shared dependencies and goals

- Educated to post graduate level or equivalent level of knowledge of working at a similar level in specialist area
