The Trust’s communications and marketing team has a key role in promoting the organisation’s services to a broad range of stakeholders, covering both internal and external communications. We are now looking for a Communications and Marketing Assistant to join our award-winning team.
Main duties of the job
This key role supports the communications team in building the reputation of Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust, working closely with colleagues and partners, to meet both Trust and district-wide objectives.
You will be part of a small dynamic team that delivers broad-based communications and marketing activity across a range of areas, including campaigns.
The role is a great opportunity for someone who is already working in a communications function, with particular strengths in digital media, and is now looking for an opportunity to step up to the next level.
We are normally based in the Trust’s HQ in Saltaire but like many, we are currently home working but staying connected with lots of video catch-ups, to work closely together as a team.

Essential criteria
- PR / communication, inc. traditional and digital media, design and print.
Desirable criteria
- Qualification or experience of print/design, photography.
Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Microsoft Office including Teams, Excel, CMS.
- Understanding of how to tailor content for different media, specifically press, web, print and social channels.
Desirable criteria
- Design skills
Qualifications
Essential criteria
- A’ Levels or equivalent.
- Degree or equivalent knowledge (through experience) in communication and marketing/or PR.
Desirable criteria
- 4 A-Levels A-C BA (Hons) in a relevant degree (eg. communications, marketing)
Experience
Essential criteria
- Experience in a communication role.
- Experience of digital media activity - web/social/videos - and experience of broad range of digital channels.
- Experience of writing and issuing media releases and media handling.
- Able to produce accessible copy for use across a range of communication channels - web, print, e-bulletins etc
- Print/design, branding
Desirable criteria
- Has a working knowledge of the NHS.
- Experience of print and production techniques.
- Evidence of guiding/ supporting others on communication work.
- Working knowledge of a broad range of promotional tactics (events, stakeholder liaison, print, digital, media etc).
- Evidence of continued professional development.
