A position has become available for a position of Safeguarding Adults and Children Advisor.
The trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and adults at risk and expects all staff to share this commitment.
The Safeguarding team promotes safeguarding within the organisation and works with partners across Bradford, Airedale, and Craven to improve quality, and develop effective, robust systems and processes.
The role of Safeguarding Adults and Children Advisor requires a highly motivated, dynamic, and passionate individual.
The role will have a specific focus on multi-agency processes, MARAC attendance and the domestic abuse agenda. There will be a requirement for the individual to support training provision.
Training development and facilitation will be part of the role.
The post holder should be an exceptional communicator, problem solver and able to build positive and effective relationships.
BDCFT Safeguarding team works between an office base at New Mill Saltaire and remotely at home to support all BDCFT health services. There may be occasions when multi-agency meetings need to be attended across the district, therefore the staff member is required to be a car driver with a valid driving license.

Main duties of the job
- To provide support and guidance in relation to multi agency forums requiring BDCFT contributions and action planning primarily focusing on MARAC and domestic abuse.
- Be fully engaging in multi-agency working.
- Being a specialist in supporting the identification of safeguarding risk to children and adults, advising on such, and escalating when necessary.
- Contribute to and support the facilitation of safeguarding adults and children training.

Experience

- Experience of adult and/or child safeguarding as a caseload holder.
- Experience of multi-agency and multi-disciplinary working.
- Experience of working with Domestic Abuse cases.
Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Knowledge of legal framework of safeguarding children and adults at risk and current local & national policy
- Knowledge of the MARAC Process
- Knowledge of Mental Capacity Act, Deprivation of Liberty and Best Interest
