Our Patient Meal Service team based within the Catering Team of AGH Solutions, a wholly owned subsidiary of Airedale NHS Foundation Trust are now looking for additional Catering Assistants – Patient Meal Service  to join the team, where no two days or two wards are the same.  As part of the Patient Dining Team, you will be responsible for the delivery of the patient meal service, and beverage service to our patients, along with some food preparation, cleaning duties, and temping of fridges and food, along with stock rotation and supporting delivery acceptance.

Full Training will be provided, and this would be Mon-Fri initially for 2 weeks, which must be completed, please also note for this role you will need to be 18 or over to be considered due to safeguarding.

Main duties of the job

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Delivering meals and beverages to patients with care and compassion
  • Supporting food preparation and regeneration using service trollies
  • Carrying out cleaning duties, including pot wash
  • Monitoring food and fridge temperatures
  • Picking and preparing patient meal selections

Training & Support:

Full training will be provided, with a minimum of 2 weeks Monday–Friday to ensure you’re confident and supported in your role.

  • GCSE Maths & English or equivalent

  • Food safety course level 1
  • Customer Service Training

Experience

  • Previous experience working with the public/customers
  • Working to schedules, procedures and deadlines
Desirable criteria
  • Previous experience of working in a hospital/healthcare/care home environment
  • Previous experience of complying with Health and Safety regulations
