Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Deputy Nursery Manager to join our team. 

The post is 37.5 hours per week over five days. 

The successful applicant will join our existing management team and help to oversee the smooth running of the nursery and will be the nursery SENCO. 

This is a rare and exciting opportunity for the right person!

 

 

Main duties of the job

·         To assist in the delivery of high quality Day Nursery Service.

·         To assist in ensuring that all children attending the setting are kept safe and receive rich and stimulating play experiences, both indoor and outdoor, appropriate to their age and stage of development. 

·         In the absence of the manager to undertake the overall day-to-day management of the nursery.

·         To manage and deliver the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum.

·         To be the nursery’s named Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator.

·         To help ensure good quality inclusive care, education and play opportunities for children from birth to 5 years, by managing and supporting a team of childcare staff whilst reporting to the nursery manager.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • NNEB/NVQ 3/BTec or equivalent in early years childcare
  • Paediatric First Aid.
Desirable criteria
  • Level 5 Early Years Qualification
  • Food Hygiene.
  • First Aid at Work

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Significant post qualifying in a senior role or have demonstrated relevant experience within the nursery setting.
  • Experience of taking the lead when necessary .
  • Proven experience of working in partnership with parents / carers.
Desirable criteria
  • Delivery of training programmes.
  • Staff development
  • SENCO role
