Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Trust for a fixed term. We are looking for a highly experienced, and strategic-thinking EPR Senior Operational Lead for the Airedale EPR Programme to work across the Trust’s Operational Divisions and digital teams to lead on the delivery of EPR in 2026.

Main duties of the job

As the EPR Senior Operational Lead, you will play a hands-on role as part of the programme to implement the new Oracle Health EPR at Airedale NHS Foundation Trust acting as the bridge between the programme and the Trust’s operational teams.  

 

The post holder will have a key role in this programme by working with senior colleagues and stakeholders within Digital, within the Trust and across the Integrated Care Partnership. 

 

The post holder will play a full and active role in clinical service delivery leadership and provide strategic direction, and management for all aspects of EPR operations, including supporting the development of a service delivery strategy and associated best-practice guidance and protocols, both for programme team members , and EPR end-users at the Trust.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Educated master’s level (or able to demonstrate equivalent relevant experience)
  • Evidence of relevant CPD
Desirable criteria
  • Managing Successful Programmes (MSP) Practitioner or significant relevant experience
  • Relevant Programme management qualification or relevant experience (for example PRINCE2 or similar)

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Extensive experience in managing operating procedures and standards in the NHS and aligning these with business operating systems
  • Experience in working alongside clinical teams to introduce operational improvement that enhances patient care and clinical/hospital systems
  • Experience in producing reports for director-level meetings and working at a strategic, tactical and operational level within an acute NHS Trust
  • Demonstrable experience of working with diverse teams to oversee operational change and improvement initiatives on a large scale, in a complex organisation
  • Experience in managing change teams with the ability to inspire and lead the implementation of change
  • Experience in setting up and implementing internal processes and procedures
  • Experience in working alongside clinical teams to introduce operational improvement that enhances patient care
  • Have proven experience in actively supporting teams with quality improvement activities, including leading and creating process mapping activities
  • Experience in training operating procedures, and service delivery standards to users and supporting Learning teams to deliver vital systems
  • Demonstrable experience in preparing, reporting on and monitoring budgets
  • Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary workforce including clinical and non-clinical staff
  • Senior leadership and team management experience in a complex organisation
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of EPR implementations and managing interdependencies and interoperability between clinical informatics platforms
  • Experience in working on projects relating to any of the following: Patient flow
  • Demonstrated experience of delivering transformational service delivery in a Healthcare environment
  • Knowledge and experience of large system deployment within a healthcare environment
  • Electronic Patient Record implementation
  • Experience in managing risks and reporting
