An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Integrated Pathology Solution LLP (IPS) team as a Senior Project Manager. IPS is an innovative joint-venture pathology service between Airedale NHS Foundation Trust, Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust. This partnership delivers a high-quality pathology service through collaboration between three Trusts for the benefit of patient and service users.

Main duties of the job

This role is still being established, and the candidate would be expected to be the expert within the team on project management. Development of a local IPS PMO will be a key early goal, in conjunction with the Pathology Quality Managers and General Manager. Project management skills training to scientific staff will form part of this role.

Experience of leading multiple projects and managing support staff needs to be evidenced within the application. Brief details on the varied types of projects managed should be given, including any experience in delivering digital and service transformation projects. Experience within the field of pathology would be beneficial and details of the depth and breadth of this experience should be commented on within the application.

Candidates will need to be enthusiastic, well-motivated and innovative, with good organisational and evidence of a wide array of project management skills. Team working, good communication skills and business case development are essential, evidence of strategy development is be desirable

Essential criteria
  • Degree or equivalent qualification (or equivalent experience
  • PRINCE2 Practitioner or equivalent
  • Ongoing professional development in relevant subject areas
Desirable criteria
  • Master’s degree in project management or other relevant area or equivalent qualification
  • MSP Practitioner.

Experience

  • Successful project management of a complex project
  • Experience of working across a wide range of project areas
  • Experience of managing change and associated behaviours
  • Experience of working with suppliers and managing a range of stakeholder relationships
  • Experience of preparing business cases and management of project budgets
  • A proven ability to work effectively and sensitively in multi-disciplinary teams
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of working with pathology or an equivalent clinical speciality
  • Experience of working within an Acute NHS Trust and working with clinical and administrative staff.
  • Experience of managing change and associated behaviours in a large organisation.
