Education and Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Registered Nurse
  • Non-Medical Prescriber (V300)
  • Evidence of ongoing CPD
  • RCGP cert 1/2 or willingness to undertake
Desirable criteria
  • Degree relevant to post
  • RCGP Cert 1/2 Substance Misuse or relevant qualification
  • Primary Care/LTC qualification Mentorship qualification
  • Further prescribing speciality qualifications (e.g. VT900 anticoagulation management,
  • RCGP pt2 Substance misuse)

Knowledge and Experience

Essential criteria
  • Post registration experience
  • Understanding of integrated governance agenda
  • Experience of working as an autonomous practitioner
  • Change management experience
  • Experience of managing/leading a team Experience of multi-disciplinary/multi agency working
  • Extensive knowledge of substance misuse issues
  • Demonstrates specialist expertise underpinned by theory acquired through CPD
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of working within primary care/substance misuse/acute care
  • Understanding of local and national key documents and their impact on health care delivery in a prison setting
  • Experience of working with individuals with a history of substance misuse
  • Experience of service development
  • Management Experience of recruitment, selection and retention of staff
