People and Culture Advisor

NHS AFC: Band 5

Job overview

We have an exciting opportunity for two people to join our team as People and Culture Advisors, based at our offices in Wakefield.

You will be part CIPD qualified, or working towards this, coupled with experience of providing HR advice in a busy work environment.

The role will be based at our offices in Wakefield but will include occasional planned travel to sites as needed, including attending meetings in secure environments e.g., HM Prisons. We are happy to consider hybrid working (e.g. part homeworking and part based at sites/Wakefield office) after an induction and settling in period.

You may have previous NHS experience but crucial to this role will be the ability to provide good quality HR advice and build effective and supportive working relationships with a wide range of managers.

We offer Agenda for Change terms and conditions, development opportunities and access to the NHS pension scheme.

Closing date to apply is midnight on 7th December 2025.

Interviews to be held via MS Teams on 12th December and if successful invite to on-site interviews/selection process on 18 December 2025.

Main duties of the job

The role will provide professional HR advice, guidance and coaching to managers in accordance with Spectrum’s policies, employment legislation, ACAS codes of practice and other professional standards. You will provide HR advice on a wide range of people issues, including terms and conditions of employment, conduct, performance management, grievances and absence.

If you are successful, you will be joining a fantastic team who are part of an award-winning healthcare provider, innovative in our approach and committed to patient care, delivered through our talented teams.

If you are shortlisted, you will be invited to an interview via MS Teams on Friday 12 December 2025.  If you progress to the next stage, you will be asked to attend an in-person selection process at our offices in Wakefield on Thursday 18 December 2025.
