Job overview
The People Strategy Leadership team have a permanent opportunity for an experienced HR professional to join our team as HR Business Partner. This permanent post is available on full time or part time hours and whilst the postholder will be expected to cover the footprint of the Trust across Yorkshire, the post's base could be in North, East, West, or South Yorkshire and applications are welcome from across the patch. We work in a hybrid way, and we will support the postholder to manage their own time and diary although there is in person attendance required occasionally at our Head Office in Wakefield.
Main duties of the job
This post will be responsible for the quality of our employee relations activity and will be responsible for a caseload of disciplinary, grievance, absence and organisational change. Alongside this you will work collaboratively with colleagues in Leadership & OD, Health and Wellbeing, EDI, and others across the People & OD Directorate to get to grips with our people across the life cycle of their employment.
Supported by an experienced team of Senior HR Business Partners and HR Business Partner Peers, the postholder will support the wider People Advisory team and will be exposed to the full matrix of the Trust from the 999 frontline to our Corporate Support Services.

Essential criteria
- Significant experience of advising senior leaders of the organisation on a broad range of people matters, balancing risk, legal compliance with business need
- Experience of managing multiple complex ER cases.
- Experience of working in partnership with Trade union representatives towards shared goals and achieving organisational outcomes
Skills and Abilities
Essential criteria
- Ability to assess and recommend appropriate courses of action on complex, specialist HR issues requiring analysis, interpretation, and compare a range of options.
- Ability to plan, prioritise, communicate and deliver against personal and team objectives and work plans.
- Able to work well both independently and as part of a team, ensuring team goals are met
Knowledge and education
Essential criteria
- Educated to master's degree level or significant demonstrable equivalent
- CIPD Associate Membership/Level 5 (or working towards)
- Thorough up-to-date knowledge of employment law, ACAS Code of Practice and employee relations processes.
