We are expanding our continence pathway through a new Continence Enhanced Programme, supporting children and families with Toilet training needs and early intervention strategies.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will work as part of BDCFT Children’s Services incorporating Public Health Nursing: service 0-5, 5-19 offer and Specialist School Nursing to deliver and enhanced public health offer.
The post holder will contribute to the delivery of continence assessment, advice and support for children and young people experiencing bladder and bowel difficulties.
Working as a registered nurse within the multidisciplinary team, the post holder will assess needs, develop, implement and evaluate care plans, and provide evidencebased interventions to support toilet training and continence management, working within their scope of competence.
The role involves working collaboratively with families, schools, early years settings and partner agencies to promote healthy bladder and bowel habits and support children and young people to achieve independence with toileting.
The post holder will provide support and guidance to junior staff, students and support workers as appropriate, contributing to a positive learning environment and maintaining high standards of care.
The post holder will identify children who require additional support and will make appropriate referrals to specialist services, working within agreed pathways and seeking guidance where required.
