Job overview

An exciting opportunity for a Band 2 Ward Clerk to join Laverstock Ward.

Laverstock is a 24-bedded general medicine ward specialising in Respiratory Medicine. 

We are looking for somebody who has excellent communication skills, being able to display tact and diplomacy where appropriate.  You will have a flexible approach to working within the team and respond effectively to enquiries from the general public, service users and other colleagues.

The successful applicants will be enthusiastic and is comfortable with using digital systems  to help facilitate smooth and safe  patient transfer and discharge.

Laverstock is a friendly and supportive ward. The ward is supported by a strong medical team, as well as an experienced and well established ward team. We have our own ward team of physiotherapists, occupational therapists, ward clerk and pharmacist to facilitate continuous and safe patient care. 

Main duties of the job

We are looking to recruit a ward clerk for Laverstock Ward, a general medical ward specialising in Respiratory Medicine.

You will be responsible for providing an effective and well-organised administrative service and for meeting the changing priorities within the department.

  • Computer literate
  • Good communication skills; able to communicate respectfully verbally and in writing.
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of working in the NHS preferable.
  • Experience in using the software Lorenzo, Oracle and Cerner Millenium.
