We are looking for a Band 3 Administrator to join our friendly Cardiac Investigations Unit (CIU). This is a part-time, fixed-term position for 12 months, offering the opportunity to become an important member of a dedicated team supporting the delivery of high-quality cardiac care.
 
You’ll be a welcoming first point of contact for patients and colleagues, helping to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the service. The role is varied and requires someone who can stay organised, work confidently with IT systems and communicate effectively with a wide range of people.
 
You’ll need to be proactive, reliable and able to work independently, with the ability to prioritise your workload and respond positively to the changing needs of a busy department.

Main duties of the job

To provide a fully comprehensive administrative service to CIU

To act as first point of contact for all forms of communication for the CIU team from patients and staff

To assist in the organisation of CIU team clinical workload and manage referrals and bookings

To work independently, prioritising and managing own workload quickly and accurately, responding to the needs of the department.

To report waiting list outcomes to senior management

Education

Essential criteria
  • GCSE English Language (Grade C or above)
Desirable criteria
  • NVQ3 in Business Administration or equivalent

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Computer literacy with experience of word processing, databases, spreadsheets, presentations and email
Desirable criteria
  • Clerical/Office administration experience within a healthcare environment

  • Excellent telephone manner
