Job overview
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Clinical Site Manager to play a pivotal role in the operational and clinical management of our hospital site. This is a key leadership position responsible for ensuring the safe and appropriate placement of emergency and elective patients, in close collaboration with the medical teams and Senior Nursing staff.
Main duties of the job
Please note we have 2x 1.0 WTE vacancy.
Candidates will have a minimum of 4 years post registration experience and will have a minimum of one year previous clinical leadership / team leader experience in an acute setting. Confidence in acute clinical skills and evidence of professional development will be required.
You will work across organisational and departmental boundaries to identify and implement solutions to bottlenecks in patient admissions.
To plan and manage the utilisation of inpatient beds providing an efficient and effective service for both emergency and elective admissions.
You will take a lead role in ensuring admissions pathways for emergency and elective patients are optimised.
You will play a key role in enabling the Trust to achieve national performance targets for emergency and elective access.
Work with the hospital teams to ensure access and capacity processes are effective, timely and improve patient experiences.
Manage the day to day and out of hours operational running of the site.
Experience demonstrating effective management of complex clinical environments and situations with good problem solving skills combined with a flexible and adaptable approach.
Demonstrate a sound knowledge of current NHS and professional issues

Essential criteria
- The CSM will be an allied health professional or first level registered nurse with a Diploma, Advanced Diploma or Degree in Nursing with evidence of continuing professional development to masters level or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience at Band 6 working in acute areas or in an operational leadership role.
Skills & Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Excellent level of organisational skills.
- Good analytical skills and confident to mitigate risks appropriately
- Knowledge of current issues in relation to nursing and health care.
- Advanced keyboard skills and ability to use multi IT systems.
