Job overview

We are excited to offer a permanent position opportunity to join our dedicated Trauma and Orthopaedic therapy team.

In this vital role, you will provide essential therapy input to both elective and trauma patients, playing a key part in their recovery journey. You'll actively facilitate early mobilisation and timely discharge, working towards our goals of elective recovery, Best Practice Tariff, and key performance indicator (KPI) targets. This is an excellent chance to contribute directly to patient outcomes and gain valuable experience within a specialised and fast-paced environment.

Main duties of the job

Provide specialist therapy input to Orthopaedic elective and Trauma patients. 

Provide support and supervision to band 5 and band 3 staff within the team.

To work independently across the unit.

To participate on the weekend rota. 

Participate in audit and improvement projects across the unit.

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Diploma in Physiotherapy or BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy or overseas equivalent
  • Able to demonstrate evidence of extensive work at a Band 5 level within the NHS and in a range of areas within an acute setting including Orthopaedics
  • HCPC registration as a Physiotherapist
Desirable criteria
  • Band 6 NHS experience in Orthopaedics
  • Involvement in carrying out clinical audit and service development
  • Experience of supervising other members of the team - students, band 3s
  • Additional CPD demonstrating an interest in the specialty of Orthopaedics

Experience

  • A wide range of experience with transferable skills

  • Leadership skills and team working
  • Experience in conflict resolution and difficult conversations
