Job overview
We are looking for a medical secretary to join our Upper GI department on a part time basis. The hours will be 22.5hours a week worked Wednesday to Friday. As a medical secretary in the Upper GI department you will provide comprehensive secretarial and administrative service to the Consultant(s) and their teams.
We are looking for someone with experience of working as a secretary or in similar in busy healthcare environment. Comprehensive IT skills with knowledge of Microsoft packages, including Outlook diary management are key for this role. Training will be provided to use the IT systems the trust use.
Main duties of the job
Producing clinical letters and documents using Electronic Patient Records, collect and collate investigations. Responding efficiently and effectively to telephone queries from patients, parents/guardians and other health care professionals by offering non- clinical advice.
Working independently, you will be able to prioritise and manage your own workload, responding to the needs of the department. You will offer secretarial support to any admin team when other staff members are away.
