What You’ll Do
- Lead daily ward rounds and manage respiratory patients.
- Perform pleural procedures including drainage and aspiration.
- Supervise junior doctors and work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team.
- Participate in outpatient clinics and quality improvement projects.
What We’re Looking For
- MBChB, MBBS or equivalent, ideally with MRCP.
- Experience in respiratory medicine at registrar level.
- Strong communication skills and ability to lead under pressure.
- Commitment to personal development and teamwork.

Essential criteria
- MBChB, MBBS or equivalent MRCP or equivalent
Experience
Essential criteria
- Experience in Respiratory Medicine working at Registrar grade.
- Familiarity with pleural procedures – confident to insert pleural drains unsupervised
- Ability to assess and manage acutely unwell patients
- Strong communication skills with patients, relatives, and multidisciplinary team members.
Desirable criteria
- Experience in respiratory outpatient clinics
- Pleural ultrasound skills and Bronchscopy
Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Up to date knowledge of respiratory medicine.
- Good organisation, time and management skills and Computer literacy
- Ability to establish positive working relationships with the multidisciplinary team
- Flexibility, enthusiasm, and a commitment to personal development
Desirable criteria
- Teaching Qualification
- Knowledge of clinical governance frameworks
- An understanding of NHS management issues.
