Children’s Community Nurse Band 6

We are looking for a motivated, passionate and experienced children’s nurse to be part of an established team of children’s community and specialist nurses.
Main duties of the job
The post will be allocated their own case load and be responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and monitoring of patient care. In addition to this you will be responsible for teaching/training of junior staff, support workers and untrained staff within health, education and social care settings to meet the child’s needs and to ensure continuity of care

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- NMC Registered Nurse – RSCN, Child Branch or equivalent.
- Degree in Nursing and evidence of post registration learning or equivalent experience.
- ENB 998 Teaching and Assessing course or equivalent
Desirable criteria
- S.M.A.R.T. pack training
Experience
Essential criteria
- Substantial experience working as a Children’s nurse
- Experience with relevant portfolio of mentoring students demonstrating own development
- Experience within the appropriate clinical area
Skills
Essential criteria
- Ability to work in a team as well as on own initiative
- Ability to communicate with children and families in relevant language
- Ability to work without supervision and take charge/responsibility regularly in the absence of the person with continuing responsibility
Desirable criteria
- Commitment to developing appraisal and clinical supervision skills
Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Evidence of knowledge and application of consent, data protection, patient confidentiality and risk management with Health & Safety issues, specific to children’s issues

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
